Supporting students with low mood and anxiety: Identifying the signs and providing early intervention

Join us to hear more about how you can support the students at your school or college and our early intervention service.

Free webinar

This is a free webinar open to all UK secondary school and college staff.

About this webinar

When mental health problems become enduring, children and young people can struggle to get the support they need.

Research tells us that targeted, evidence-based, early intervention and prevention initiatives, accessed when problems first begin to emerge, are key to preventing mental health needs escalating and becoming entrenched.

At Anna Freud, we developed the Schools and Colleges Early Support Service to enable students to access support as early as possible. The service offers preventative support to the whole school or college community, alongside targeted support for students, parents and carers and school staff that need it.

Join us to hear more about how you can support the students at your school or college, our early intervention service and how this can help young people manage their wellbeing and build self-care tools to last a lifetime.

Aims of this webinar

  • to learn how to embed a culture of wellbeing across the whole school or college community

  • to know how to spot the signs, behaviours and symptoms of an emerging mental health need

  • to identify the risk factors that might make students more susceptible to developing difficulties

  • to learn about the importance of early intervention and how schools and colleges can support students experiencing common mental health difficulties such as anxiety and low mood

  • to understand when a student may need targeted support and how to seek it.

Who is this webinar for?
