About this training

In this training, delegates will learn how to work with children or young people to co-develop a peer support programme. Full of practical strategies and underpinned by a robust evidence-base, this course will equip delegates with the knowledge and skills to train children and young people to becoming 'Peer Mentors'.

Delegates will complete the course with an understanding of how to ensure all the peer mentors in their school or setting are supported and that the programme is impactful and sustainable.

Aims of this training

By the end of the training session, you will:

  • understand the role and potential impact peer mentors

  • understand the nature and purpose of a peer support training programme

  • plan how you will implement the programme in your setting

  • have an awareness of how to enable peer mentors to develop and manage trusting relationships with their mentees.
