This course helps school leaders support staff wellbeing, build resilience, and manage secondary trauma.

About this training

This training will help school leaders better understand the mental health needs of their staff in the demanding school environment. It will encourage school leaders to think about supporting the wellbeing of their staff at a universal, targeted and specialist level and will include building resilience and managing secondary trauma.

Attendees will also learn practical strategies for self-care, stress reduction and creating a work-life balance.

Aims of this training

After completing this course, you will:

  • understand the meaning of staff wellbeing in relation to yourself and colleagues

  • identify and monitor your own wellbeing needs and the impact of workplace culture and environment

  • recognise your personal and professional role and responsibilities in managing your wellbeing including building resilience and the impact of secondary trauma on wellbeing

  • know a range of effective self-care strategies and how to access trusted mental health and wellbeing support and resources.
