About the AMBIT Gathering

Our monthly AMBIT space links to our ‘community of practice’, a principle that sits at the heart of the AMBIT framework.

The AMBIT Gathering is a chance to meet, talk and share with others around the world doing similar work to you, and of course us – the AMBIT Programme team.

Those interested in AMBIT are often trying to help people with multiple and complex needs, who might not experience this help as helpful. This can make the work feel difficult, and it can be hard to find the space to figure things out, create and innovate. When we do find innovative ways of working, it makes sense that we want to share them.

While organisations tend to provide manuals to meet the training needs of their employees, communities of practice help foster the process of storytelling among colleagues which, in turn, helps them strengthen their skills on the job. AMBIT also promotes the principle of connectedness and a way of developing the trusted relationships that are necessary to support learning.

The space is informal and open to everyone with an interest in AMBIT. We start with a check-in to get a sense of who is in the room, and what they might want or need from the space, which informs how we use the time that we have together.
