The Health Education England (HEE) Manchester Children's homes project
Funded by Health Education England (HEE), the AFNCCF is developing and delivering a new adaptation of the existing Adaptive Mentalization Based Integrative Treatment (AMBIT) programme (Bevington et al., 2013), the AMBIT-Residential (AMBIT-R), designed for staff in residential children’s homes.
The AMBIT-R aims to enable staff working in residential children’s homes to understand and respond more effectively to the mental health needs of looked after children and young people placed in residential homes, and to provide a shared reflective approach to support team working amongst practitioners in residential settings.
Our aim is to further develop and deliver this new adaptation of the AMBIT model, with a first phase focusing on piloting and adapting the MBRSP. A mixed methods evaluation of the iterative programme took place in order to establish programme relevance, usefulness and acceptability to children’s home staff.
