A new NHS 10-year plan will be published in spring 2025, outlining the government’s long-term ambitions and priorities for the health service. It will focus on three shifts that are intended to better meet the needs of the UK’s population, including:

  • moving care from hospitals to communities

  • making better use of technology

  • focusing on preventing sickness, not just treating it

We fed into the government’s consultation and encouraged colleagues and young people to do the same.

Read how we think the new plan should address children and young people’s mental health needs in a new opinion piece published in Children and Young People Now by our CEO, Professor Eamon McCrory. He says:

“[The plan] presents a golden opportunity to implement changes to transform the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. And change is urgently needed.”
