Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT): Basic Training - Mexico

About this training

This training is being run by Mentalizar México.

Mentalizing explores our innate ability to comprehend mental states, crucial in Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT). Originally designed for borderline personality disorder (BPD), MBT now addresses diverse disorders.

This training will take place in-person at the Ejecutivo Express Hotel in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Please note this training will be delivered in English with simultaneous Spanish translation therefore this training is suitable for Spanish-Speakers only.

Pre-registration can be made directly with Mentalizar México: Pre-registration for MBT Basic Training and MBT-G (Groups).

This training aims to:

• Expand on previous knowledge and embeds the basic skills of mentalization based treatment (MBT) learned in the MBT Basic training at a more skilled level.

Course trainer - Dr Anthony Bateman

Prof Anthony W Bateman MA, FRCPsych consults to Anna Freud about MBT training. He is Visiting Professor University College, London and Honorary Professor in Psychotherapy University of Copenhagen.

Anthony Bateman developed Mentalization-Based Treatment with Peter Fonagy for borderline personality disorder and wrote the manual for mental health professionals on Structured Clinical Management of Personality Disorder. He received a senior scientist award from British and Irish group for the Study of Personality Disorder in 2012 and in 2015 the annual award for "Achievement in the Field of Severe Personality Disorders" from the BPDRC in the USA.
