A full day refresher training day on autism, ethnicity and culture.

About this training

This full day National Autism Trainer Programme (NATP) specialist training day will focus on autism, ethnicity and culture. Other topics covered will include:

  • ethnicity and autism: a family perspective

  • anti-oppressive therapy and allyship

  • improving access to mental health services for children and young people from minority ethnic communities

  • autism mental health: psychosis, anxiety and low mood.

Who is this training for?

  • anyone who has completed NATP 4-day training

  • mental health professionals, across all seven NHS England regions, and other relevant staff, who currently work or may work with diagnosed or undiagnosed autistic people from the following settings:

    • adult and children and young people inpatient mental health hospitals

    • adult and CAMHS community mental health settings

    • residential special schools and colleges

    • health and justice settings.
