What we’ve learned from senior mental health lead training
Learn more about the senior mental health lead role and what we’ve learned through delivering the national training programme.
About this training
In 2021, the Department for Education introduced a new scheme to offer funded senior mental health lead training to all eligible schools and colleges by 2025.
At Anna Freud, we have been part of this scheme from the beginning, training thousands of delegates to become senior mental health leads in their settings.
This seminar will provide an update and insight into senior mental health lead training in schools and colleges. We will look at the current landscape and key challenges, and will share what we’ve learned about practical strategies and approaches.
Speakers will include our Head of Training and National Programmes, as well as a trainer delivering the training on the ground. We will also hear from a current senior mental health leads who will talk about how they have implemented changes learned from the training in their setting:
Roisin McEvoy, Head of Training and National Programmes at Anna Freud
Amy Shelton, School Engagement Trainer at Anna Freud
Emma Scelsi, Senior Mental Health Lead at St Vincent's Catholic Primary School
Ray Choudhuri, Senior Mental Health Lead at Haggerston School
