Nick Midgley is a senior lecturer at UCL, where he is Programme Director for the MSc in Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice, and Academic Director for the PsychD in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. Nick trained as a child psychotherapist at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families, London, where he is now co-director of the Child Attachment and Psychological Therapies Research Unit (ChAPTRe). Nick has been involved in the development of mentalization-based treatments for children and families, and was the co-editor of Minding the Child: Mentalization-based interventions with children, young people and families (Routledge, 2012) and co-author of Time-Limited Mentalization-Based Therapy with Children (MBT-C): A treatment guide (American Psychological Association, 2017). He is currently involved with several research projects that are evaluating adaptations of MBT for use with foster carers and for children in care who have experienced early maltreatment and trauma.
