What's the future of CAMHS?
A podcast of Miranda Wolpert's talk on the future of CAMHS is now available online.
In this Evidence Based Practice Unit (EBPU) seminar, Dr Miranda Wolpert shares thoughts on the possible future of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). She discusses a new model for how children's mental healths services are conceived of, commissioned and run, which has been developed by the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families and Tavistock and Portman.
The model, called THRIVE, is organised around the needs and strengths of children and their parents and is clearer about the limitations of what CAMHS can and can't offer.
You can listen to the podcast on our Soundcloud account.
The THRIVE model has continued to develop since the talk and the latest version is available here.
