Mayor of Camden hosts New Year’s fundraiser

Earlier this year, the Mayor of Camden, Councillor Nadia Shah, hosted a charity wine tasting in aid of the Anna Freud National Centre.

The tasting took place at the famous Bleeding Heart Restaurant in Hatton Garden with Warren Gibson, winemaker in chief at the acclaimed New Zealand winery Trinity Hill, acting as resident expert. He talked guests through a selection of three white and three red wines which were served with complementary canapés.

The evening brought together Mayoral representatives from across the London boroughs and others interested to find out more about the work and vision of the Centre.

Councillor Shah introduced the evening with a speech reiterating her commitment to the Centre as her chosen charity for the year. She said:

“I am delighted to help raise funds for the Anna Freud National Centre, my chosen charity during my mayoral year. They help transform the lives of local young people experiencing mental health problems, vulnerable families as well as providing training for youth centres and schools in our borough. I am very grateful to the Bleeding Heart for hosting this fundraiser”

A fantastic £3,620.00 was raised. All proceeds will come to the Centre, enabling us to continue to provide the highest quality care for children, young people and their families who are suffering with mental health problems.

We would like to thank Councillor Shah and Robert and Robyn Wilson, owners of the Bleeding Heart Restaurant, for generously sponsoring the evening of raising mental health awareness and glasses.
