Centre Shines at Starfields
The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families was front and centre at St Andrews University earlier this month. After our successful application to be the partner charity of the St Andrews Charity Fashion (FS) show, our Fundraising Manager Jenny Ricketts made the 350 mile trip to host a stall at the Starfields Freshers Festival.
Starfields is one of FS’ biggest events to raise awareness of their partner charity before their main event in February and it was the first time that a representative from the partner charity had been to the event. So far, over 2,250 tickets have been sold for FS with the profits going to AFC.
Jenny made our presence known speaking with students, staff and committee members from the Fashion Show team. One committee member even said that the Centre is transforming FS this year.
Jenny Ricketts said,
“Visiting Starfields Festival at St Andrew’s University was a great opportunity to speak to students and other members of the Fashion Show Committee about the work of the Centre and to raise awareness of mental-ill health as well as our work to improve children and young people’s mental and emotional wellbeing.
“The event was put together meticulously by the Committee after no doubt months of organisation. They were fantastic hosts and it was great to see so many young people interested in our work.”
