National Autism Trainer Programme - Children and Young People Inpatient Two-day Training

The two-day orientation course is available for those who attended the CYP Autism Train the Trainer Programme for Inpatient Facilities national course delivered in 2022 by Maudsley Learning.

About this course

This training is co-produced and co-delivered by autistic people. You will have access to our unique curriculum, Community of Practice support sessions and webinars and we will support you to deliver the training in your setting with an autistic co-Trainer. The two-day programme trains staff to Trainer level and supports them to train staff in their own settings.

If you attended the pilot in 2022 and would like to register your interest in future training dates for the orientation course, please email natp@annafreud.org.

Learning outcomes

In this training you will:

  • cover key elements of the NATP, such as relational approaches of working with, rather than on or for, autistic individuals

  • introduce core frameworks to guide non restrictive practice, e.g., SPELL

  • describe the system of ongoing support to co-deliver with Experts by Experience and grow your skills as a trainer

  • explain how to use our e-library and our facilitation notes

To find out more about the training, download the course summary flyer.
